Extracellular Vesicles

Extracellular vesicles (EV), are cell-derived vesicles that are responsible for direct cell-to-cell communication.  EVs are regarded as the purest form of cellular signaling available because their function is to direct tissue and wound healing by activating cell responses through mRNA, microRNA, proteins, growth factors, and signaling cytokines.

Through the paracrine effect, they induce changes in nearby cells that create the appropriate healing environment and aid in tissue repair.

As the technology and discovery of new methods of treating patients have evolved, scientific evidence shows that the optimal way to provide true regenerative therapy is to directly provide the signals as its therapy.

Although not specifically FDA-approved for hair loss, injectable EVs have shown encouraging clinical results for treating hair loss from physicians around the world

KeraLase Serum

The KeraLase serum contains “bio-identical” synthetic versions of the body’s growth factors and proteins which are needed to regrow hair. The growth factors and proteins rejuvenate damaged hair follicles and stimulate increased blood supply to the dormant hair follicles. This triggers natural hair regrowth, in addition to increasing the thickness of the individual hair shafts being produced.

Unlike other hair loss treatments that sit on top of the scalp, the KeraFactor serum travels down the laser-created channels to reach the root. And, unlike other hair restoration products that only are effective during the hair follicles growth phase, KeraFactor affects all 4 stages of the hair life cycle – so it begins working to regenerate the hair follicle immediately.

PRF Serum

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is a powerful, non-surgical treatment proven to help restore hair regrowth for men and women. PRF is one of the most effective treatments for stimulating hair regrowth and awakening dormant hair follicles. PRF utilizes your own concentrated, potent stem cell factors as well as healing properties of fibrin type proteins. No added chemicals or stabilizing substances are added, and the serum extracted for use is sterile and purely your own beneficial products. 

PRF is a same-day, in-office procedure that requires drawing a small amount of blood, and then spinning it down in a specialized PRF centrifuge. This results in a highly concentrated serum that is shown to be superior to traditional PRP, full of platelets, white blood cells, fibrin, and valuable stem-cell-derived factors.

Once the concentrated serum is extracted and placed on the LaseMD-treated scalp. The PRF causes hair follicles to grow by depositing and stimulating stem cells and messenger cells in the area. This in turn promotes and accelerates tissue regeneration and healing. PRF is especially effective in the early stages of hair loss and can stimulate dormant hair follicles to return to a growth phase.

Best outcomes are after 3-5 monthly treatments. This is because our hair grows in cycles, and we want to be sure to stimulate hair growth at each of these time points to promote a cumulative effect. And, given that the process of hair loss and aging continues, maintenance treatments about two times a year is recommended.

PRF treatments are very safe and effective because the treatment is utilizing on your own cells, which also means that the possibility of bad reactions occurring during or following the procedure is minimal. There is mild discomfort experienced during the process itself and if needed numbing cream or medication can be used. In the days following the procedure, the area may have mild soreness and there could be some small areas of bruising at the injection.

Beyond Healthy MD physicians also offer hair regeneration therapy by using a proprietary, medical-grade serum created by Cellese Labs. The AnteAGE MD Hair Growth Factor Solution is created using specialized laboratory techniques to enable bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell cultures to produce and capture proteins and extracellular vesicles focused on hair growth (WNT-1a pathway). In addition, many bio-identical growth factors and cytokines, each with proven efficacy in hair follicle stimulation, are utilized to make this the most scientifically advanced treatments and products.

The scalp is prepped with our LaseMD laser to create microchannels in the skin, and the solution is applied. The process stimulates hair follicles to wake up and grow, as well as, reduces the presence of DHT (Di-Hydro Testosterone), the byproduct of testosterone metabolism which causes hair thinning and baldness in men and women.

The treatment works by using WNT-1a Cytokines™ along with a cocktail of natural stimulants to overcome the quiescence of hair follicle stem cells and reduces the production of DHT. The procedure is performed every 4-6 weeks in a series. As described above, a series of treatments allows a maximum number of follicles (in the proper hair growth cycle) to be stimulated and treated.
